Thinking about what I want seems to create the opposite?

A few people have mentioned to me how they have found that thinking about what they want seems to create the opposite. Instead they think about what they don’t want with the expectation that what they do want will occur instead and it seems to work for them. Why is this?

Its them vibrations you see. This whole thought creates malarky is about energy and vibration i.e. the vibration or feeling that is evoked by the words you think and express. Now many, if not most, people have grown up with a belief system that says you cannot have what you want?

As children we learn over and over again how we cannot have this, that or the other, how we don’t need another toy, sweet, biscuit, etc. etc. Of course there is some truth in this but to the young exuberant consciousness of a child this simply comes as a blow to them, they feel thwarted. “I wanted more ice cream but I couldn’t have it, I wanted a new bike but I couldn’t have it…” and so on.

Our conclusion becomes a resigned “Ho, hum, I just cannot have what I want and that hurts, so I won’t think about it. I’ll think about not getting what I want instead but maintain the quiet hope that I may actually get what I really want anyway. That way I won’t feel too disappointed either way. “

Miraculously, it seems, you often, do get what you want. Why? Because here, the vibration of what you are feeling is still one of hopefulness. You’re running a scam to trick yourself into feeling the possibility of success without the harsh certainty of failure. You’re are actually thinking / vibrating more about what you want but you’ve dressed that in the cloak of what you do not want.

As an equation:

Sum of desires (wants) + Sum of fears (non-wants) = Mix of results (both positive and negative)

If desires are > fears results are more positive

If fears are > desires results are more negative

When fears and desires are = you tend to stagnate because all choices are wrong, no choice has a dominant vibration or energy.

For example:

You want to go travelling in your car or camper van to some remote places where there is little or nothing in the way of roadside assistance or breakdown service. As a result of these circumstances you feel anxious about the problems you may have if your vehicle breaks down. Its a perfectly rational concern and thinking about being marooned in the middle of nowhere does not feel very good.

So in this instance we have what is wanted; the travel adventure and what is not wanted; being stuck in the middle of nowhere. Right, so if you’re deeply fearful about the risks you“ll not go at all because it is too uncomfortable, too far out of your comfort zone. Lets say you’re not though, you’ve been dreaming about this adventure for years and finally its coming together but you’re still afraid of all the things that may go wrong, it worries you.

Here I suggest that the desire for an exciting successful trip is high and that the awareness of all the things that may go wrong serves primarily to refine, focus or heighten the desire for success. Whilst in the planning stages you are indeed very aware of the risks and potential problems and quite focused, apparently, upon what you do not want but the underlying vibration is still one of yes this is what I do want. As a result of this you exercise due diligence about all aspects of planning the trip and making sure you’ve prepared for every eventuality as best as possible. Your desire for success coupled with your fear of failure are combining and motivating you towards greater success.

As a result when you finally set off you are going to feel a great deal more confident and comfortable because you know you’ve done your homework, your vibration of success will be high and you’ll most likely have a great trip.

If you truly expect it (or anything else) to go badly you can be pretty certain it will and you’ll know that it’ll go that way because it will just feel doomed from the start, a self fulfilling prophecy.

Many times it seems we are juggling a mixture of the two and thus getting mixed results but nevertheless still building upon our successes and moving forward. A key part of this success is the growing consciousness about all that is going on within us at a felt, emotional level, blending logic with the intuitive senses; making more conscious decisions holistically.

Its a work in progress.

Enjoy
